A fireplace is the one bit of brickwork people actually sit and look at, so it has to be right in two ways: it has to work, and it has to look good doing it. Plenty of fireplaces manage only one of those. The working part comes down to proportions you can't see — the throat, the smoke shelf, the flue size relative to the opening. Get those wrong and you have a beautiful fireplace that fills the room with smoke every time you light it. We build to the ratios that make a fire draw properly, and we install the right flue and liner for the way you'll actually use it. The looking-good part is where you get to choose. Recycled reds, dark manganese, a rough tumbled brick or a crisp modern face — we'll show you what works with the room and build it. Outdoors, we also do built-in BBQ surrounds and wood-fired pizza ovens.
